Serious question... Do you love (have great affection for) Jesus - or do you really just love Reformed Theology?
I know during my "cage stage" of Calvinism - I wasn't concerned with the souls of the lost, but with 'converting' my fellow Southern Baptists into Calvinists... To put it in the words of Leonard Ravenhill, "I stunk with pride." My theology was bright, accurate and sharp... and my heart toward God was often cold.
How would you even know?
Well someone once asked Martin Lloyd-Jones how to know if you're "preaching in the Spirit"... and I'm paraphrasing because I can't find the quote... but he said something to the effect of:
"It's quite simple to know if you're preaching in the Spirit... Do you feel lifted-up, high and mighty when you preach? Or are do you feel humbled and brought low as you're preaching? If you feel lowly and humble as you preach, you're likely preaching in the Spirit"
And I take that as my own personal barometer for speaking about Reformed Theology... high and mighty or low and humble?
We know which one Jesus was.
Much love to you brothers and sisters in Christ...
And as always, when you want that "sanctified sip" of caffeinated glory... we're happy to serve at www.ReformedRoasters.com
In Christ,
