I Do Believe... But Help My Unbelief

You don't have to like it... you just have to do it.

Sound familiar?

It is the secret to many successes.

Often, it's the key to diligence and perseverance... you just keep going... believing that you will see the kindness of the Lord in the land of the living. When your heart aches, the pain threatens to swallow you... we simply don't quit.

There is an anchor behind veil of heaven HOLDING YOU FAST. He's working in you both to will and to do... so do!

There are times in life where it simply might be smarter to quit. The world may wonder why you're hanging in there. What's in it for you? The heartache, the doubt, the pain caused you by others, the bitterness... It's easier to run, to escape the pain...

Like Dave Ramsey says, sometimes, you just have to be "too stupid to quit."

When your soul echoes Mark 9;24 - "I do believe; but help my unbelief." That vacillation is no shame, it's the soul of a believer with tears in eyes, pain in his heart, destruction in his life - clinging to Christ, cuz it's all the hope we've got.

That being said...

Cold duty is a hard task master. Jesus Christ is WORTHY to be served... and serve Him you must... but why? Because it's just the right thing to do? Is that all?

For many years, the tag line "You don't have to like it, you just have to do it" was my motto for service. Hard. Cold. Affection-less... And it was powerless to honor the Lord or serve Him well.

So what is the proper motive for serving the Lord?

"Because we love Him"... https://www.amazon.com/Because-We-Love-Him-Embracing/dp/1576738655

What greater motive to Holiness than love and affection for One who gave Himself for you. I don't get anything monetary for recommending this book to you... only the joy of knowing it will warm your soul, pull you from cold duty, and into the very center of the Lord's own joy.

And as always, thank you for your support of www.ReformedRoasters.com. If there's anything I can ever do for you, just ask.
